People were all still lining up to get in but the “Toppers” were just starting their song. Afterwards, I didn't miss the unspectacular English opening, but that's not the point. Making a twentieth edition the least surprising and special is also an art. The Toppers are clearly at their end creatively. A breath of fresh air is what the great concept needs to last for years to come. Mensen stonden allemaal nog in de rij om binnen te komen maar de “Toppers” begonnen al gewoon hun riedeltje. Achteraf niets aan de niet spectaculaire engelstalige opening gemist maar that’s not the point. Een twintigste editie het minst verrassend en speciaal te maken is ook een kunst. De Toppers zijn overduidelijk creatief aan hun eind. Een frisse wind is wat het prima concept nodig heeft om nog jaren mee te gaan.
